The Cardinal Route

A group of eight young people have been working with the Thomas Wolsey 550 project to transform eight of the bollards surrounding the Cardinal’ statue.   The transformation of the bollards was made ahead of yesterday’s procession through the Saints in honour of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey.  The procession followed the Cardinal Route from St. Peter’s Church along St. Peter’s Street, St. Nicholas Street, Queen Street and on to the Cornhill.  The event was a collaboration between Ipswich Central’s Thomas Wolsey 550 project, the Suffolk Music Hub and five Ipswich primary schools – Broke Hall, Ranelagh, Ravenswood, St. Mark’s and Rosehill.  The procession featured Tudor music from The New Cambridge Waits and the Colchester Waits, lead by professional Renaissance musician Emma Mordue.
